![]() So why aren't they working together? In AV1 the new clone of trace is mentioned to be a plan B, with the implication that Athetos was plan A (which went wrong). Indra needs Trace/Athetos to move upstream to find her daughter, and in AV1 Athetos claims to want to move upstream too, and keeps the breach there to trap the rusalki. This of course, leads into questions about Athetos and Ophelia's motives in AV1. The final piece of evidence is that the final boss music for AV2 is a remix of "Amnesia" which is the music that plays in Ophelia's area in AV1. Even more evidence includes that Ophelia is said to be able to enter the Breach in AV1, something the other rusalki can't do (though, she may be lying on this front). Moreover, in AV1 Ophelia is the only of the Rusalki that speaks English normally (And notes that rusalki is the word for them in Elsenova's language, implying Vykhya is not her native language), is "The Outsider" referred to in the aforementioned note, and is said to have ties with Drushka. Additionally, Ophelia in Shakespeare dies by drowning, just as Indra does at the start of the game. Additionally, Ophelia is a name from Shakespeare, which Indra is noted to be a fan of in the note "Dr. Secondly, Indra's statement that she's not really "Indra" anymore, suggesting the possibily that she could take a new name. ![]() Firstly, there is the similarity in their portraits. Lastly, the ending of the game heavily implies that Indra is Ophelia from AV1. ("Anonymous Quote" in 1 mentions that all of the "Masters of Patterns" were castrated). This is of course important as the only known PatternMind thus far is Trace. Drushka is seen twice in AV2, and at the end of the game is seen potentially teaming up with Indra to find a PatternMind. Drushka is mentioned twice in the first game, in the notes "The Outsider" and "Letter". There's a good thread on that here, but to summarise briefly, it seems that the effects of exposure to the breach may have been Athetos' "pathogen" all along, which causes the mutations.įinally, i'd like to talk about Indra and Drushka. Finally, over time, all of the other humans on the overworld become ill and mutate into things resembling Xedur. Additionally, almost all of the enemies in the breach are highly similar to the enemies encountered in the first game. This includes the drone enemies in the area, and the rebirth chambers. ![]() The final area contains a lot of technology that appears nearly identical to the technology on Sudra. Hammond mentioned in the first game, or a relative of theirs. Additionally, since this note is written by Hammond, it's a good time to mention that I am unsure if the Hammond in this game is intended to be the same Dr. Goodbye is noteworthy in that it mentions a Scry (which is mentioned by Ophelia in AV1, more on her later) and it implies that trace, after his initial trip to Sudra, returned to earth at some point. To start with the obvious, 2 notes mention Trace by name, those being "Letter from Trace" and "Goodbye". Since I 100% Axiom Verge 2 this morning i've been left wanting to talk about the links between the two games with people, so here's a post to do just that.
